We are looking forward to taking on Tower Hamlets' school health and wellbeing service on 1st September. The service provides essential specialist nursing care, advice and support to school-age children and young people.
We already provide the Borough's health visiting service and in taking on school health we have an exciting opportunity to grow and fully integrate 0-19 service provision in Tower Hamlets and to strengthen links between general practice, community services and schools in our localities. This is a major step forward in our aim for better joint working between service to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for local children, young people and their family and carers. We have already received strong support for our innovative service model from a number of schools with whom we have started to engage. We look forward to welcoming our new colleagues in the school health service who will be joining us from the current service provider, Compass Wellbeing, and we are working hard to ensure there is a smooth and seamless transition for users of the service and staff. |
