The inaugural Tower Hamlets General Practice Challenge Cup saw the Millwall Docz come from a goal behind to beat the Tower Hamlets All Starz in the final. The All Starz, a combo of Network 6 and the Care Group office, were unbeaten on their way to the final and bookies favourite to lift the trophy. The Starz seemed poised for victory after taking an early lead but 2 quick fire goals from the Docz saw them secure the title. Millwall Docz skipper, Toby (Tobes) Longwill, GP from Island Health said ‘This is a historic day, we came here to show what Island Health and Network 8 can do, and the lads did us proud. We're well chuffed’…
In the chilly evening of Friday 27th October, at the rooftop pitches in Bow school, 6 strong teams represented their localities and practices. The Highway team (Network 4) caught the eye early on with their red and white striped kit. There was also a local derby between Limehouse Lions and Lionesses, and the official Network 7 team, mainly fielding players from Aberfeldy. Although the Limehouse and Lionesses, led by Kirsten Shirke, failed to secure a win, they made a fantastic their effort and the only team to consistently field a mix gender team in all games. Thank you to East End Eagles, representing Network 1, who completed the teams and proved to be a tough opposition for all the teams they faced. Overall, the Tournament was a fun and competitive night out for all. Thank you to everyone who participated and to their family and friends who came to support the event.
