Have your say on the public consultation on the proposals for the council’s three maintained day care nurseries.
Tower Hamlets Council is facing unprecedented cuts to its funding, with pressure to save £58m from its annual budget over three years since 2015, with growing demands and tough choices. The money provided by government for both education and council services is being reduced, and difficult decisions must be made about how to use limited funds where they can have the most impact. The independent Schools Forum, which distributes schools’ funding in Tower Hamlets, has already decided to stop paying for the council’s three day care nurseries so that the money can be used to support schools including our maintained early years provision and so many more children.
